Explore Villavicencio: An Unforgettable Journey into Mendoza’s Foothills
We invite you to discover the impressive beauty of Villavicencio and its famous natural mineral springs on an excursion that combines history, nature, and unique landscapes. The journey begins as we depart from the city of Mendoza, taking the old road to Chile—an area of great historical significance, as this route was once used by the Army of the Andes, led by San Martín, during the campaign for independence.
We then continue along Provincial Route Nº52, where we will see the Canota Monument and enjoy spectacular views of the foothills of the Andes. Further along, we reach Vaquerías, a historic site that once served as a shelter for muleteers and mountain guides, and today hosts the first ranger station of the Villavicencio Natural Reserve, established in 2000.
Accompanied by expert guides, we explore this natural sanctuary of 70,000 hectares, home to a unique and protected ecosystem. The tour continues to the famous Hotel Villavicencio, an iconic landmark set in the mountains of Mendoza. Here, we will have time to walk through its beautiful gardens and parks, perfect for a relaxing stroll in any season of the year.
The itinerary also includes part of the old international road, traveling along sections of the winding Caracoles Road, named for its sharp curves that provide breathtaking panoramic views of the Villavicencio Valley from above.
This excursion is ideal for travelers who wish to connect with Mendoza’s nature and history without dedicating a full day to the high Andes. A must-do experience to admire unforgettable landscapes and capture some of the best views Mendoza has to offer.
